Legal Web e-book authorsNick HolmesNick Holmes is a publishing consultant specialising in the legal sector. He is Managing Director of infolaw Limited and webmaster and principal consultant for infolaw. Nick has experience since 1978 in legal publishing, specialising in the processing and management of legal data and resources. He set up as an independent consultant in 1989, advising publishers on and implementing publishing solutions. In 1991 he formed infolaw Limited. Nick has monitored the development of the UK legal web from its birth (effectively 1995), and developed and maintains the infolaw website. With Delia Venables he wrote Researching the Legal Web: a guide to legal resources on the internet (2nd edn, Butterworths, Nov 1999). With her now also co-edits and publishes the online Legal Web e-books with CPD and the bi-monthly Internet Newsletter for Lawyers. For some years he wrote a monthly Page on the Web column for the Solicitors’ Journal. He has also contributed articles to a number of other legal publications. Delia VenablesDelia Venables consults and writes on IT and internet topics relating to legal applications. Her website was one of the first legal resources to arrive on the UK legal web over 10 years ago and it is still going strong at www.venables.co.uk. She has written a number of CPD courses for lawyers including Beginners Guide to the Internet for Lawyers, First Set of Advanced Internet Studies for Lawyers and Second Set of Advanced Internet Studies for Lawyers. Together with Nick Holmes, she jointly writes and edits the current series of Legal Web e-books with CPD and the Internet Newsletter for Lawyers which is a bi-monthly newsletter covering how lawyers can make the best use of resources online (particularly free ones), how they can use the internet for improving service to their clients, how it is changing legal practice, how lawyers can market themselves and also sell legal services online, legal aspects of e-commerce and IT issues relating to all these topics.
