Advice Services Alliance (ASA)  

Umbrella body for independent advice services in the UK. Members are national networks of not-for-profit organisations providing advice and help on the law, access to services and related issues, including adviceuk, Age Concern England, Citizens Advice, Citizens Advice Northern Ireland, DIAL UK, Law Centres Federation, Scottish Association of Law Centres, Shelter, Shelter Cymru, Shelter Scotland and Youth Access.

Bar Pro Bono Unit  

Established to provide pro bono – free – legal advice and representation in deserving cases where public funding (Legal Aid) is not available or where the applicant is unable to afford legal assistance.

Citizens Advice  

Helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free information and advice from over 3,200 locations, and by influencing policymakers.

Citizens Advice Scotland  

Bureaux providing advice and information to people in need all over Scotland.

Law Centres Federation  

The national body for a network of community based Law Centres. Law Centres provide help in solving everyday problems, such as getting decent housing, dealing with discrimination, or obtaining the correct benefits.

LawWorks  

The operating name of the Solicitors Pro Bono Group (SPBG) - an independent charity with a mission to support, promote and encourage a commitment to pro bono across the solicitors' profession.

Legal Action Group (LAG)  

National, independent charity which aims to promote equal access to justice for all members of society who are socially, economically or otherwise disadvantaged. To this end, it seeks to improve law and practice, the administration of justice and legal services.

Legal Aid Agency  

The Legal Aid Agency is an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice. It came into existence on 1 April 2013 following the abolition of the Legal Services Commission as a result of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders (LASPO) Act 2012. The Legal Aid Agency provides both civil and criminal legal aid and advice in England and Wales. Our work is essential to the fair, effective and efficient operation of the civil and criminal justice systems. We are a delivery organisation which commissions and procures legal aid services from providers (solicitors, barristers and the not-for-profit sector).

Legal Services Agency Ltd  

Scottish Law Centre and charity which aims to provide free and low cost legal advice/representation to those with all forms of unmet legal need; also books, advice leaflets and training for individuals, community, business and government organisations.

National Pro Bono Centre  

Houses the profession's national clearing houses for legal pro bono work delivered in England and Wales: the Bar Pro Bono Unit, LawWorks (the Solicitors Pro Bono Group) and ILEX Pro Bono Forum. Designed to be a hub for pro bono charities in the sector and will support the wide range of pro bono projects and brokerage which the charities support, helping individuals and community groups all over England and Wales.
