LawtagsLawtags is a utility which recognises legal citations and references. There are currently three environments in which Lawtags is used:
Lawtags for MS OfficeLawtags for MS Office is an application of Microsoft Office Smart Tags. Once you've installed infolaw Lawtags for MS Office, when you open any Word or Excel document or Outlook email, Lawtags will recognise legal citations used in the document and Office highlights these with dotted underlines. When you click on an underlined link you are presented with a menu of actions enabling you to look up these references using infolaw Lawlinker which provides bibliographic detail, links to web pages where the full text is published and additional links for further reference. If you'd like to trial infolaw Lawtags for MS Office, please request the install file and documentation from nickholmes@infolaw.co.uk. Lawtags for Google Co-op (beta)Lawtags for Google Co-op is an application of Google Subscribed Links which are a feature of the new Google Co-op service (beta). Once you've signed up on Google Co-op to subscribe to infolaw Lawtags, when you type a legal citation or reference in the Google search box, Lawtags will recognise it and present a result enabling you to look up these references using infolaw Lawlinker which provides bibliographic detail, links to web pages where the full text is published and additional links for further reference. Lawtags will generally recognise most variations of the citation types noted, but there will be exceptions. Further reference types and citation variations will be catered for in future. |
