Advertise in the Internet Newsletter for Lawyers

The Internet Newsletter for Lawyers is a well established community of lawyers interested in legal information, marketing and selling legal services online, IT and internet topics, published bi-monthly in print and online.

Profile of subscribers

The Newsletter goes to around 1,100 subscribers:

• UK firms of solicitors 700
• Chambers and individual barristers 250
• "Mixed bunch" - legal departments of large companies, legal libraries and other legal bodies, universities, legal publishers, suppliers to the legal profession, legal press and journals: 150
• Irish firms of solicitors 50

Around 150 of the 1,100 subscribers hold multiple use licences, so the Newsletter is read by considerably more than 1,100.

All subscribers also have full access to the online version of the Newsletter without extra charge, and advertisers also gain online exposure to both subscribers and non-subscribers (ie all visitors to the Newsletter site) via an Advertisers link in the sidebar. The newsletter online gets around 9,000 visits a month.

Reader profile

The majority of the firms who subscribe are smaller and medium sized practices - they are the ones who seem to like the Newsletter's broad appeal, ie not "just" specialists in marketing, or libraries/legal research, or e-commerce or website management or IT, but those interested in topics which cross all these boundaries.

Publication dates

The Newsletter is published every other month - at the beginning of January, March, May, July, September and November.

Types of advertising

There are three types of advertising available:

• Advertising in the printed Newsletter
• Inserts sent out with the Newsletter
• Sponsoring the online Newsletter

Advertising in the printed Newsletter

There are six one-quarter page adverts printed as part of the Newsletter, 18 cm x 6.75 cm.

The cost per insertion is £170 plus VAT. Modest discounts are allowed for longer runs of adverts booked, and paid for, together.

All print advertisers also have a persistent direct link in the sidebar of the online Newsletter.

A pdf version of the printed Newsletter is also provided online, increasing the number of people who will come into contact with the "printed" adverts.

Inserts sent out with the Newsletter

There are at most 3 or 4 inserts going out in any one issue, and a maximum overall weight (Newsletter and inserts) of 100 grams. We do not want people to empty their Newsletter envelope over a wastepaper bin!

• Single A4 page / up to 9 g - £170 plus VAT.
• Double A4 page / up to 18 g - £240 plus VAT.
• Triple or more A4 pages or strange shapes and sizes: it depends on what other inserts are already booked - please ask!

All insert advertisers also have a persistent direct link in the sidebar of the online Newsletter. This is an unusual and valuable bonus for insert advertisers.

This is a new category of advertising designed to enhance the advertiser's online presence.

In the online Newsletter, a direct keyword link chosen by the sponsor is placed in the left hand sidebar which appears on all Newsletter page views. Fuller "title" text including the advertiser's chosen message is also included.

The Newsletter is published with WordPress blog software; consequently all pages are frequently indexed and have a high exposure in the search engines.

The Newsletter receives in excess of 9,000 page views a month.

Sponsorships cost £350 plus VAT for 6 months (3 issues) or £600 plus VAT for a year (6 issues).

Although sponsorship is primarily a feature of the online newsletter, our sponsors do also get a mention in the printed and pdf versions.
